Margaret Lenthe Vehicle Crash Ottawa County Death and Obituary: In Loving Memory

Ottawa County is mourning the loss of 78-year-old Margaret Lenthe, a longtime resident of Lakeside Marblehead, who died in a tragic two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning. The crash occurred on March 21, 2026, at approximately 9:42 a.m. along State Route 2, near mile marker 122. The community, where Lenthe was known for her steady presence, is now left grieving a sudden and unexpected loss.

Lenthe was driving her 2005 Ford Focus westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle veered off the road and struck the center median. The force of the collision sent the car airborne, and it landed directly in the path of an eastbound 2021 Toyota Tacoma, driven by 56-year-old Raymond Roberts of Hazel Park, Michigan. Roberts had little time to react as Lenthe’s car landed in his lane, and the pickup truck struck her vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that Lenthe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. For first responders, it was a grim reminder of how quickly a routine drive can take a deadly turn. Roberts and his passenger, Todd Prosky, both of whom were wearing seatbelts, suffered only minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

The community is left to reflect on the life of a woman whose drive that morning never reached its destination. Emergency crews from several agencies worked together to manage the scene and clear the wreckage, while investigators continue to work out what caused Lenthe’s vehicle to leave the roadway.

For now, Ottawa County holds its breath in sorrow, remembering Margaret Lenthe, a woman whose life was taken far too soon.
