San Angelo, Texas — The San Angelo community is mourning the tragic and senseless death of Mark Palacio, 32, who died on Saturday, March 21, 2026, following a violent stabbing that has left his loved ones devastated.

San Angelo Police were dispatched at approximately 1:29 a.m. to the 100 block of East Concho Avenue after reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find Mark Palacio suffering from multiple stab wounds near the former Western Mattress building parking lot. Despite quick transport to Shannon Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.

The fatal incident began earlier that evening at the Pour House bar on Paint Rock Road, where an altercation took place. The situation escalated after the group involved was denied entry to Ranch 125. A second confrontation unfolded in a parking lot, where Palacio was stabbed in the abdomen during a heated exchange.

Following the attack, the suspects fled the scene, leaving Palacio collapsed in the street. Investigators were able to quickly identify the suspects, leading to the arrest of Johnny Fernandez, 41, who faces murder charges, and Pedro Rivera, 25, who has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Rivera is alleged to have threatened Palacio with a knife before the fatal stabbing occurred.

This incident marks the second homicide in San Angelo in just four days, adding to the sorrow and concern of the community.
